Darmkrebs gehört zu den am häufigsten diagnostizierten Krebserkrankungen in Deutschland. Dabei ist er bei frühzeitiger Erkennung durchaus vermeidbar. Mittels immunchemischer Tests (iFOB-Test) auf Hämoglobin im Stuhl werden geringe Mengen menschlichen Blutes im Stuhl nachgewiesen.

Gemäß der Krebsfrüherkennungs-Richtlinie haben Versicherte seit dem 1. April 2017 Anspruch auf iFOB-Tests anstelle des bisherigen Guajak-Tests, da diese Blutspuren im Stuhl deutlich besser nachweisen. Patienten können den Test ab einem Alter von 50 jährlich und ab 55 alle zwei Jahre kostenfrei bei ihrem Hausarzt, Internisten, Gynäkologen bzw. Urologen durchführen.

Product Applications Specialist

Main purpose of Job:

Provide training, technical assistance and troubleshooting to existing and potential users of Sysmex products, and to distribution channels in the West and Central African Region. Work closely with the local team, corporate team and distributors and/or their representatives to expand business prospects in the region. Participate in the development of strategies for Sysmex products as well as support the Sales and Marketing team in achieving sales/marketing targets annually.

Summary of Role:

Provide training on Sysmex products in Sysmex Academies, on-site, and serve as technical consultant on same for the development and advancement of Sysmex local and corporate businesses


Product Modification Management

  • Responsible to acquire all information regarding new product specifications or modifications of existing products.
  • upgrading or extending of existing/new products.
  • Strengthen knowledge of Sysmex products so that these can be translated and explained clearly to colleagues and customers to enhance their knowledge of the products

Training Activities

  • Conduct application trainings for Sysmex affiliates and distributors in the region
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures for trainers in Sysmex academies
  • Provide appropriate end-user training on Sysmex instruments as and when necessary
  • Develop and implement training programmes (workshops and conferences) for customers to maintain desired levels of customer satisfaction and referenceability.
  • Keep up technical knowledge by making suggestions to the management on which continuing education programmes may be useful

Distributor Management

  • Maintain regular communication and continuous contact with all the distributors and subsidiaries
  • Review and update knowledge of Applications Specialists of distributors through webinars
  • Proactively support distributor Sales/Marketing activities to promote Sysmex business
  • Support distributor audit activities and distributor meetings

Complaint Management & 2nd Level Support

  • Handle product related complaints as well as other clinical applications issues on instruments
  • Recognize and communicate product issues, complaints and potential improvements
  • Provide excellent assistance for troubleshooting purposes both online and on-site through extensive travel.
  • Use of Minerva or Support App to manage all customer/distributor complaints

Additional Task

  • Perform occasional tasks as and when assigned by the Regional Director or his designate
  • Assist Customer Service Director with any tasks as he deems necessary to delegate his duties
  • Support Sales/Marketing target achievement
  • Prepare a report to supervisor after every business trip indicating the activities done, recommended action/s, person/s responsible and other important information which management ought to know
  • Management of company (Sysmex) assets and expenses within company guidelines

Knowledge / Skills Required

  • Minimum qualification: BSc Medical Laboratory Science
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience as a Biomedical Scientist in the fields of Haematology, Haemostasis, Parasitology and Bacteriology
  • Competence in interactive communication, problem solving and decision making
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to communicate complex scientific/clinical content in an easy to understand manner
  • Good and fluent in both written and oral English and French
  • Strong persuasive and presentation skills highly desirable
  • Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite
